Is there any legitimacy in the statement that "wife cases get approved faster than husband"?. Just a thought...

I think only Rukhsati cases are bit faster regardless of Husband or wife.

Unfortunately, mine is just Nikkah .. one could only hope :-/

I am just curious, if you don't mind sharing

If you sent your application to CPC-M, and provided an email address, you should be receiving an email (includes approval) and mentioning the file number, and saying that it has been transferred to the Visa Office.

Our case was filed on March 30,2012 at CPC-M.
Email received on July 3, 2012 - Sponsorship approved - File number assigned - case transferred to Visa Office abroad. (not Islamabad for us)
(eCAS is updated accordingly as well.)

So just 1 email, it mentions the date they received your application, tells you you're approved, gives you the file number, and tells you about where your file is transferred, how to check status, contact info of visa office, etc.

(Note however, our approval email came from CPP-Ottawa even though case was sent to CPC-M.) I guess they must be sharing files between CPP-O and CPC-M to move things faster.

So those that provided email address, you will get an email, not a letter.
If you did not give an email, then wait for the letter.

Well bcoz in husband case they have to verify more things as compare to wife's case so thats y mostly wife case clear bit faster then husband's...
but its not compulsory thing every case is different from others all this depends on agent who is dealing with ur application but of-course only nikah case is very complicated now bcoz those people have to give alot of other things to prove relationship is genuine without cohabitation its very complicated to prove it...
I saw alot of cases who just meet and get married some people says this is red flag but i saw alot of cases approved like this and also i know one person who got married and didnt applied for Citizenship his wife came to his country alot of times and after 6 years his wife sponsored him but Canada refused them even b4 AOR saying that your relationship is not genuine .......so every case is different depends on fate....

I'm nikah-only as well; we were going to do the whole enchilada earlier in the year but my mom got diagnosed with cancer and she is definitely in no shape to be traveling abroad.
I was thinking of going to Pakistan in the fall to get more proofs (pics, etc.) to make the case stronger. For now my main concern is my mom's health.

Hello Guys... I got married in March this year and my wifey is a canadian citizen by birth. We only have our Nikah done and we want to file the spousal sponsorship application. I have the following questions in this regard:

1. Our marriage is 200% genuine its just that we wanted to have the rukhsati after I get my pr visa. So, while filing the application, would submitting photos of our nikah ceremony, our skype call/chat log, our viber messages log, receipts of gifts sent to my wife through amazon and other similar evidences help us escape the notorious "marriage of convenience" accusation and resulting painful delays?

2. If in case you guys think that these evidences wont be sufficient, how and when should we plan the rukhsati assuming that we are filing the application to CIC Mississauga in this month i.e. July 2012?

3. Do they accept call and messages logs of internet telephony applications such as skype and viber as enough evidence cuz we rarely use actual mobile telephony due to obvious cost difference?

Have a quick question, If the person being sponsored resides in Kuwait, can it be filed through islamabad, or does it have to be through Abu Dhabi?

Did everyone include the Part 3 Information Guides in the application package that you sent to Mississauga?

The part 3 contains a Checklist 3 forms:

1. Supplementary Information Form - Pakistan and
2. Residency questionnaire - Pakistan.
3. Authorization to Disclose Information — Pakistan

and did you include ORIGINAL educational certificates etc? I submitted attested copies... should I send Originals now with the file number for refence?

Yes ofcourse Part 3 is according to Region that is important part of form we have to send all that to Mississauga (1.2.3) and check list also and yes i send them everything original including educational documents not attested copies... but y you are worried now? ur case is not incomplete otherwise they will return ur file to you but ur case is approved already and transfered also so if they will ask you for originals just send them..
