CHC, Islamabad Spouse Sponsorship Timeline 2012 -2013

I did request the GCMS notes in September and there was no mention of Interview.Only activity was that my electronic file was transfered to Islamabad in July and nothing since then.

Wht abt gcms notes? Do they say tht u r in interview queue? Did u try explaining them that they almost lost ur package and u werent sure so instead of waiting u sent another one?

DO NOT believe a single word ur MP's office tells u.... U R NOT HEADED FOR AN INTERVIEW!!.....

The fact they sent the Originals back means that ur file is in process..... n has most likely been sent to CHC- ISlamabad for further processing....... Ur file was sitting at the Case Processing Pilot in Ottawa (which is where u most likely received back the original documents from).... Thats where they send all the overflow applications from embassies around the world when the embassies are overloaded.... it seems the files of most of the ppl on this forum ended up at CPP Ottawa...

It's been 20 months n counting for me as well..... Hopefully u will receive some good news soon INSHALLAH!

Just my 2 cents. For people sending packages to CHC-I, please refrain from using Canada Post at all. Canada Post is notorious for international deliveries. Once the package reaches Pakistan, they out source to a local carrier which is not the most reliable.

For sending anything to CHC-I from Canada or even from within Pakistan, use TCS, DHL or Fed-Ex. These three have proper infrastructure in place there and they make sure your package gets to the right address.

Once back in March 2013 my spouse also sent the package containing rukhsati stuff to Islamabad embassy through Canada post and we had a very bad experience regarding it. But in our case the tracking info was just showing that our pkg was in transit n i guess even after a month it was still in transit. Then i came to know that CHC-I didn't receive it and sent it back. But we tracked the pkg when it reached lahore from Islamabad where it got stuck in Customs. I got the pkg though in the end by requesting a Customs guy and then i sent it to CHC-Isb from Lahore through TCS.
I hope you won't face such problem but i just told you to make you aware. Since then i hate all postal services regardless of the country. You should use FedEx or DHL instead..anyways good luck

Thank you everyone I wish I had known about this before sending in my package; I would not have minded spending the extra $$ on it as long as it got to Isl. I was sure it would get to CHC-I because I had sent gifts to hubby in Kabul using Canada Post, and they always got there on time without any problem. Ughhh...I should just send in another package using DHL along with the receipt/emails I got from Canada Post otherwise my application will just be sitting in some corner collecting dust (if it isn't already).

^^ with Canada post it depends on ur luck. For some people they are lucky enough that their parcel reach their destination but others not so lucky. And O have mostly heard about bad experiences with CP so I avoid it

Good luck! It seems to only have problems with international mail because like one of the other members said, once the mail gets to Pakistan, they hand it over to the local postal service. Glad your package reached Ottawa safely!

They don't give new passport number. They just raise the last digit of your passport number to next level, which represents the number of passports issued to an individual. For example, suppose passport number is cu12435591 and you renew your passport. The new number will be cu12435592... Here two represents second passport issued to you.

Just explain them why it didn't take place when you applied. Provide them with the information that it has taken place at the date mentioned and send them wedding pictures of all events such as mehndi, reception, rukhsati, and waleema etc.

why are people here saying this is the last week for updates from CHC-Islamabad this year when on there website they only mentioned 24,25 off day??

and don't they hire pakistani employees as visa officer etc just thinking :
