Hi, I am finding it hard to believe they will process step 2 of the application process in Ottawa. You did get married in Pakistan, didn't you? If what the agent said is true then that means less files going to Islamabad and faster processing times for both Ottawa and Islamabad. Its a win-win situation for all

Ottawa takes care of other locations aswell.. This is just a pilot project...

i could actualy access my file with my record of landing #
and thanks hogaishaadi i called them today asked her for uci she said its same as your client id and you dont reall need the letter
anways i am approved as a sponsor thats what matters and again she explained me how my file is in ottawa its thier new project to expedite process i guess they will only send my application to islamabad if they have to varify some info locally otherwise it will be processed from here so keeping my fingers crossed ... good luck everyone !!!!!!!

And that will put that delay, however, I am curious how they might/will handle given if they are suspicious of a case... Would that really throw back the case... but overall I think Pakistani cases will be dealt with a little faster...

my step 1 approval letter came from Case Processing Pilot - Ottawa as well but my file has been transferred to Islamabad.

u r welcome, + if that is indeed true, I think u will and should be done around 10-12 months max... Only coz they will have to verify some info from isl... And that will put that delay, however, I am curious how they might/will handle given if they are suspicious of a case... Would that really throw back the case... but overall I think Pakistani cases will be dealt with a little faster...

inshallah "fingers crossed" dont really know what would happen in that case i read somewhere that if they are suspicious of a case they will send it to islamabad to investigate which ofcourse wil throw back the case hope thats not the case with me

i asked call centre agent she said its more like a draw... they chose randomly dont know how accurate this info is...

Well, mine was dealt with in ottawa too, and step one was done fairly quick compared to others... I have been told that its been sent to isl since may 31 but havent got any further updates of it being there, o well as always, hoping for fairly quick or decent processing time irregardless of where it gets dealt with...

My question is what is UCI# and when we will be eligible to get it???Because my wife has no UCI number either on PR card and landing paper and she is permanent resident since June,2005.In IMM008 form they are also asking about UCI number but I left it blank because I don't had such informations.Please share some informations about UCI number..........will b thankful for your response.

Uci# is the sponsors client id that they can use to check their status online + the applicants... With the same # you will be able to view both. Its 8 digits, for eg 12345678

Application # or file number is the applicants id and info you will have to use to log online to view the same bit of info... It goes like this for eg. F123411122

You get these once cic-m sends u this info by mail or cic-ott by email, depending on who processed it here... Then u can use it to monitor stage 2 activities...

U can also use immigration landing # or a couple of other id's to check it online...

I m using my cell to reply so keeping it short, when on comp tomorrow, I will detail further

Ps: by leaving that imm0008 section empty for uci # u did the right thing, so have peace of mind there ;-)

the initial lette or email you get from cic-m regarding you being approved as a sponsor, that is also pretty much when they transfer your file to isl...as per your info provided in one of the above posts... your file got transferred in aug-sep 2011... then they even asked you for additional info... they prob asked you to send the updated supplementary forms, re-pcc, etc... and if you did so, and they are then satisfied by all that info, you will be getting a re-med pretty soon (maybe along with a ppr) so hang tight, not far off from it... (also i believe you are sponsoring husband, so it may be a little longer compared to wife cases and that is due to the security check on males)...

as far as checking status on the ecase is concerned, there are minor blips and touches here and there that indicate your file is being touched, but (from what i have gathered here) nothing solid like oh we got your additional info, now we are doing this or that... only at a couple of stages they update it... other than that everytime they touch your file there is a hint left in the address that shows there with a line missing, then added back, etc etc...

do send the police clearance form as well voluntarily if they didnt ask for, as that might have expired by now... also same with supplementary forms, and lots of good solid proof of on going relationship...

https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/ here is the link for checking your status online... use the F123456789 number along with the sponsored person`s info (not the one sponsoring) and keep a close eye on the address then any thing else... any changes in that will be hint to file being touched... (if you didnt knew this already, i put it here)...
