Hello guys,

According to CIC my wife's file got transferred to Ottawa. Since ottawa timeline is already been passed, can you tell me if its a suitable time to order GCMS notes?

I think i have found it: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5563E.pdf

But in section A(4) I am selecting "Yes" and C(4), should i choose "Electronic files-> citizenship file" ??

Alhamadallah I have landed in Canada. I dared to walk into Embassy and met with the Immigration Officer of my file. He was shocked that I did not get my COPR. He cancelled and reissued my visa and offered me Tea and Sandwitch as well.

At Toronto Airport I asked this question to Immigration officer "If I did not have COPR would you let me in" and his response was

Depends on Immigration Officer, I could have printed it out here and someone els would have deported you back home.

At ISB Airport they only asked if I had landing document. NO one bother checking it.

but my lawyer told me that CHC updates status as "in process" when they actually mail out something to the applicant. My husband and I are almost expecting something everyday! Allah (swt) knows best so i'll just hang on

Im afraid sis this is not actually the case ...... in my personal experience and by the posts in this forum i can fairly say that ......cause .. my e case status changed to in process on 14 Feb but i received a letter from CHC -Isl on 5 march for RE-PCC which was actually dated 25th Feb... so can fairly see that there is no relation between these two events... so don't expect just think of it as a surprise and forget it ... it will come soon inshallah..... my prayers are with you... ... but by forgetting abt it you can actually drift through this anxiety feeling ... this is what i do and believe me it helped me a lot....

I need bit of help here. Here is summary of my husband's application:
Submitted app: Aug 2011
Mississauga approved it and sends it to Islamabad: Oct 2011
Received acknowledgement along with supplementary information form: April 2012
After this we have not received any thing from them. When I email them they say your husband's file is in the queue to be scheduled for an interview: It has been like that since Aug 2012
We provided addition documents voluntarily: Feb 2013

I am very confused as to why they have not asked my husband for re-med, interview, or anything for that matter. I know they did mention in their emails that they do not require any further documents at this point. My lawyer keep telling me do not bother them by emailing them. I really do not know what to expect. I am just wondering if anybody else is experiencing same situation as I.

Another question: My husband's passport expires in 5 months. Is it advisable to renew his passport at this time? or should we wait? If we do renew the passport should we have to let immigrations know if so would that delay the process even more?

Please email the Islamabad office and ask them about renewing passport. I m not sure if we need to report it or not but you best renew it now rather than at the last minute when they actually send you a request to send your husband's passport and its close to expiry. This is strictly my suggestion and I hope someone else can second my response.

What is COPR?

COPR :Confirmation of Permanent Residence form
Ali it is actually a document which is given with the visa stamped PP granting access to the country as a permannent residence cause at this time they dont give you a PR card ... when you enter Canada , You show this document they make and update to CHC that you have landed and accordingly within one & half months time you get your PR card issued...
I hope I'm right senior members might shed some light over it, if I'm wrong.

If its a Nikkah case, then there is only one way to waived the interview is the Rukhsati and send CIC the pix. ASAP. Until then dont bother CIC. and forget about the renewal of your husband's passport, it will not effect on process.
and rest leaves to ALLAH and pray.

About being in Queue ... it s a wait and watch game.... yes you can order GCMS notes.... Yes your lawyer is right emailing them a lot will end you up in a suspicious circle and might further harden your case..... so at all costs refrain from doing that ......
Regarding passport ....
Just renew it and dont have to tell them... renew and send them a copy of renewed passport.... it normal.. cause if they ask for it and find it is not valid or validity period is less than two months they gonna send it back to you and further lengthen the process ... which I'm sure You don't want ...... ;D ;D ;D... and it only takes 20 odd days for urgent passport so my advice do it....

yes it can be renewed now as Pakistan PP can be renewed before 6 months of its expiry.
It is better to get it done NOW cuz passport office is short of lamination paper and they are taking 4 to 5 months for ordinary passport.
