Hi DSF, did you get the re.medical request letter via TCS or Pakistan Post??

she got the re-med letter via snail mail (pak post)

If it’s only re-med then it would come via post office and if it’s re-med+ppr then TCS definitely.

Hello Princess,

First of all Sorry to hear what is going on with you. We are not experts by any means and we just share what we hear, see, and may have experienced during our life.

From what I know is that you can cancel the sponsorship at anytime during the process. If you look at the guide it explains on how you can cancel the sponsorship. You may have to explain why you are not pursuing with the sponsorship of your spouse so they can keep in there file. But as a tip you may not want to say anything which can go against you in the future. By that I mean is if you decide to get marry with someone who is not a Canadian and you are sponsoring that person. They will have a history of your case. They may look at it. and if there is something in there which they will not like, it may create hurdle for both of you.

At this point you are still married (Nikkah) to the person in Pakistan. You can simply tell CHC that you are withdrawing your application of sponsoring your spouse because (just give them some reason)...
Once you get divorce from that person in Pakistan, you can then let CHC know that you are done with that person and you have nothing to do with him anymore.

Again, I am sorry to hear about your story. I pray things change in 21st century.

If you are a muslim, then yes you are legally married if you did the Nikah. No questions... For your divorce, I think you can fight for your case but your husband can or may prolong the process to torture you if he is that kinda person if you know what im saying. In Canada, you are legally "married" at the moment. It doesnt matter where you get married in what part of the world.

Pakistani people are great!
Im proud to be one & and im sure the rest here would agree with me. You cant judge the whole Pakistani nation because you had a bad experience. Im not being harsh or selfish. . .
PS: Divorce rate (%) in western countries is way more than ours.

No, He hasn't taken anything. However, I don't see him as my life partner.. few things annoy me and I have tried to give him chances but he keeps repeating and now i want to bring this to an end. Since It was a quick marriage we both saw eachother on nikah day and never really spent time together. I just want to give up. I want to stay alone with my family. Mariage is not important for a happy life. better be alone than being with 2 faced people. People in pk have very different mentality and I just dont want to put myself into marriage tornado.
