Salam everyone!
I have been reading this forum for quite some time now and it has always been very useful. My husband and I applied in July2011 and our file got transfered to islamabad in september 2011. A few months back i emailed CIC-islamabad and asked them if i could send them any updates? They responded with my file number even though i didnot receive any AOR via mail. They said i could send updates now so that when my file comes in initial review they have the update to go through. The thing is we have a consultant/ lawyer in toronto who has been helping us with the application and he has now advised us strongly not to send any updates unless we get a letter from islamabad via postal mail asking for updates and this could takes a few months. i am not sure why he insists on this but if any of you has any experience of sending updates without being asked for can you pls guide us. Secondly, since we have this representative/lawyer involved, what ever correspondence (postal mail etc) CIC-Islamabad initiates with us, will it go directly to him (the lawyer) or will i receive it on my address in Pakistan? hope some one can guide us........thanks..all the best to everyone..

Hi, I Just come back after my 4 moth visit in Lahore with my wife and wants to send updates regarding my wife application. So, I called my consultant/ lawyer regarding to sending updates to CHI. but he also said same think don’t send anything until they ask you. If you send now they will ask you later as well.
I thing he is right.

congrats to all who have been receiving remeds and repccs. Hope everyone gets through soon inshallah. Thanks khilafa5 for the update. Ezee, not sure why the lawyers say that coz its very confusing. Just thought if we send updates now when the file comes in initial review they will have something atleast and may be save time then. but not sure..anyway all the best to everyone...take care
