Dear Ms. *******
This is in response to your e-mail to the Head of Mission regarding your husband's application for permanent residence in Canada.
We endeavour to adhere to first in, first out commitment of our department. Unless there are serious and compelling reasons to pull an application from the normal processing queue, we tend to maintain this service commitment.
As a department, it is our goal, in 80% of overseas applications, to make a final decision within 12 months from the time the application is received at the Mississauga Case Processing Centre. This is the service standard for cases within normal circumstances. The need for an in-person interview, verification of documents, investigation of the sponsor, DNA testing or site visits do not constitute "normal circumstances" and the processing time often exceed the 12 month service standard.
Your husband's application was received at our office on March 2010. There are certain concerns with the application that cannot be assessed or addressed without an in-person interview with your spouse.
We are not able to give an exact date for the interview, however, we can safely say that the interview will take place within the next three months. In the meantime, if you wish to provide any further documents to support your spousal relationship, you are welcome to do so. This is help us in assessing the relationship in its entirety.
Your patience is appreciated,
Regards,
