Did you get an interview date yet?

No not yet, my wife has been placed in queue as of May 30, 2011 according to CAIPS report, so there is a long wait ahead. My family and I are arranging a trip to Pakistan to complete ruhksati in November in hopes of providing supporting pictures that may cancel her interview. If that happens, InshAllah she will get PPR and Visa before her re-medical expires in April.

yar agar file CSIS chali jaye security n intelligence mai to kitna time lagta hai aur ? i dont know meri file ottawa kyun gaye hai ....but ppl say k CSIS mai hai probably...caips mai sub 0 tha..meanc background check abhi tak chal rha hai ????? yarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I think those of us whose spouses have their occupation listed in Federal Skilled Class should make an independent application of their own because with the new list its only 28 occupations left and the processing time from London (for pakistani applicants) is 12 to 14 months. at least they cant bulllllllshiiiiit around the application by saying whatever they want, they have to give points based on education, experience, age and language. I actually checked with the law firm which owns this website canadavisa.com and they said at least 40% of their applicants have applied in more than one category to run a race against time and new list updated on July 01 2011 for federal skilled workers has objective to be processed in 6-12 months ...... I also called CIC call Centre in Canada and they said no harm in applying if you wish to ............ .............. and in my opinion they cant say that the applicant is desperate to get into Canada because the spouse did not apply for Federal Skilled worker class until he/she got married ......... what do u think folks?

Yep last batch of PPR was on Saturday, 5 applicants got the best news and they are in preparation of getting things dones...

@canpak05 – Why don’t u plan a trip before November .i.e September ..Send them the proofs immediately so that u guys can be together by the end of this year.. I have seen that they are not accepting nikkah cases now...

Yep thats correct! Most Nikah only cases and all Proxy (Phone Nikah) cases are getting objection letters to provide more proofs of relationship being genuine...I guess you have got to do a full wedding these days to get Canadian VISA.

it is kinda unfair there's not yet an official warning to newly weds that nikkah-only cases aren't accepted! They should explicitly state that on their website...

Its not that they arn't accepted, its just that they will need to provide a lot of proof if they only had Nikah. In Sept 2010 they implemented new policy saying that you not only have to proove that you are legally married, you will also have to provide proof of genuinity of your relationship. With Nikah only, and not having enough proofs of relationship such as call logs and emails and other proofs CIC accusing people as frauds. Its hard for people in Pakistan, because in our culture not alot of people have relationships before Nikah and this is why its getting tough and tough for us Pakistanis.

Originally we were planning September, but wife is in the middle of her exams and my mother could not secure vacation to go to Pakistan. So my parents are now gonna fly to Pakistan in middle of October, make all arrangements for ruhksati and reception. My work has only provided 4 weeks vacation, so I will fly down beginning of November and ruhksati will occur shortly after my arrival.

Positive is that we will be together for our second anniversary of nikkah
