as suggested by others, it is indeed too early to check your status online. They are current working on applications received on May 5th, and it is taking them on average 42 days to process the first stage according to CIC website so yes you can check your status by using your receipt number. However, it's too early wait for atleast a month and then it will show up on their system! And once you are approved as sponsor you will receive a client ID and then you will be able to check status by using your ID
