Calvin, have you gotten back your passports yet?calvinh said:mzr below is the email i received
Thank you for submitting your passport for issuance of your permanent resident visa. We have now issued your visa and your passport are now ready to be returned to you.
In our previous correspondence with you, you were advised that your passport would be available for pick-up at the High Commission of Canada in Dhaka. However, the Immigration Section of the High Commission of Canada in Dhaka is now closed. Therefore, it is no longer possible to deliver your passport to you through this method. Our office will return your passport to you by registered mail on Monday, May 7, 2012 at the following address:
XXXXXXXX.
If the option to receive the passport by registered mail is not suitable for you, then please advise our office before the date noted above for delivery by registered mail. If you prefer to receive your passport by courier, please send a prepaid courier envelope that is large enough to hold your passport. Please note that our office will not cover the costs associated with delivery of passport by courier. If our office does not receive a response from you by Monday, May 7, 2012, we will proceed with delivery of your passport by registered mail.
Please note that your visa expires on XXXXXXXX, so you must land in Canada before the expiry date.
Please find some who works at FedEX/DHL/TNT, I am aware that it is the official policy. kintu tara chele pathate pare, upni jodi risk nete raji thaken. so aktu link khujen express company gulo te.Maya89 said:Can someone please help me here,
My husband recently received a letter indicating that he needs to submit his passport for Visa. Since the CHC closed down in Bangladesh, he will need to mail his passport to Singapore. He contacted the Fedex office today in Dhaka and they said they cannot mail passports. They asked him to contact the Home Minister and get approval first. Is anyone else in a similar situation?
jnathan said:FedEx surely carry passports but only if the passport request is enclosed with it. CIC obviously sent you a passport request email or letter, take it to FedEx, DHL, TNT, UPS. With a valid authorization letter they carry passports. As long as I believe your Home/Foreign ministry has a section to deal with such stuffs like endorsing Phd students's papers before they head towards abroad/apply to foreign Universities for scholarships. dont get scared before making contact with them. go and ask them.
Sending Passports using FedEx and such couriers are practically 99.9% safe.
The process is very easy to send passport through DHL, just goto the foreign ministry office and there you need to spend 3000 to 4000 taka to issue a letter on your behalf. That letter you need to submit to DHL and they will carry your passport. never dare to send through any other courier as they are not reliable. I am quoting this because one of my friend is working in travel agency and this is how they frequently need to send BD passport to other country for issue of tourist or student visa. Foreign ministry is well aware of this kind of issues so you dont need to explain them a lot. Hope this helps you.Maya89 said:Thanks for the help Mr Munakib, but my husband got a hold of a courier company.
We chose the 'registered mail' option to receive back our passport from Singapore rather than relying on a courier company. How reliable is the registered mail option?
How long does it take to receive a letter from the foreign ministry??beximco said:The process is very easy to send passport through DHL, just goto the foreign ministry office and there you need to spend 3000 to 4000 taka to issue a letter on your behalf.
