Changing your University before Arrival

as all of u says we should inform cic through MyCIC account after getting study permit but notifying them online wouldn't change the old university name on study permit what if the new university does not accept it as that study permit with different university name. at POE the offices can print study permit with new university name

Thank you for your reply. You mean I should first enter Canada, receive my Study Permit and then notify CIC and change my SP? Or I should notify CIC after getting the INTRODUCTION LETTER and before arrival, so that I can receive a SP with the new uni's name at the POE?

My first Uni is in Calgary and the new one in Vancouver. Can I get the SP in Vancouver's POE?

actually i m also looking for this answer, i have same situation as yours, i got the visa and introduction letter and will arrive Canada this July 2015 , but confused about how to change university
either my showing new university offer letter at port of entry ? will it put my entry to Canada in danger.
or to change it online after entry to Canada ? but if i change it after entry what about the old university name on study permit
looking for somebody who went through this.

I have answered this earlier ...

It's totally right to inform CIC before you reach Canada if you are already admitted in other uni.

However , there is a very little chance that it can cause any problem for you people or a little more work to do like answering questions on port of entry or so .


But , if you inform CIC after reaching there , after getting study permit afeter port of entry . This is also totally right and you can inform them through my CIC account or by calling them about the change .

And no problems at all



Rest the choice is yours . You should choose whatever suit you best
