Changing school/program due to delay in study permit

Hi all,
Can I change my program and/or my DLI (due to delay in application and therefore losing my seat in my college for the requested term) for the next term from outside Canada after my study permit application is approved? I applied for a study permit for May intake in December, but still haven't received an update/news about it and my college (Douglas College) gave me a deadline (10th April) to send my study permit confirmation. However, I can't defer my term to Fall 2022 because all of the seats in my program are taken...My only choice would be a refund and apply to another school/program for the next term if I am granted a study permit after this deadline. Is there anybody who experienced this before? What should be done?

Thank you in advance!

Are you changing the DLI? If so you need to apply for a new study permit.

I don't know yet, but I might need to change my DLI if there are no seats in any program available for the term I would like to take. I am considering all the options before taking any action to be honest :/ Should I withdraw my application instead to be on the safe side? The embassy said that my application is in queue for processing...

Don’t know when you applied but you have until April 10th to make a decision. If you don’t and need to change DLIs then you apply for a new study permit.

Thank you! I applied on 18th of December in 2021 and still waiting...I think something is wrong if taking this long but can't be sure, of course. Such a stressful time!
