changing NOC code after receiving ITA

Hey folks,

Please advise on this matter...

When I created my EE profile I chose NOC code 1111, and now when I read the details carefully I've realized NOC code 1311 is better match to my experience. I've read some posts in the forums, a few say it is OK as long as it is explained in LOE, whereas few say not to change.
Anyone had similar situation?

If you had changed, did you change it in your EE profile too, or simply showing new it in eAPR will be enough?

In theory it shouldn't matter. 111 is a A skilled job, 1311 is a B skilled job. They both get you the same amount of points so on reevaluation your points will not change; as long as your EE profile is not connected to an LMIA or PNP which hired you on the basis of your NOC.

Explain clearly the mistake in an LOE and hope that the officer isn't having a particularly bad day.

Thanks a lot for your answer!

Yes my ITA is not based on PNP or LMIA. Do you think I shall change the NOC code in my EE profile too, or LOE and stating the new NOC code in the eAPR will do?

I think you have to change it in your EE profile as well as an LOE as you are eseentially confirming what you had in your EE profile is still correct. I don't know though... still waiting for my ITA :(...

Since you are a direct ITA applicant, you can update your primary NOC in post ITA forms and explain the same in LOE.

Hey there,

I did change it in both e-APR and LOE, however please note my application is still in progress. A conclusion can be made only after the decision made on the application.

Good luck! :)

Thank you for your reply.

When did you find your application.. if you don't mind me asking?

Also, is there any difference in points from NOC 1111 to 1311? Because 1111 is Skill 0 and 1311 is Skill B.

No difference in points. But there is a difference in the minimum language test scores between level B and levels O/A. Not a problem if you change from A to B after ITA, but if you change from B to A after ITA, you'd need to make sure your language results meet the requirements for the higher level.

Dear All,

Help me solve this confusion.

My lawyer applied to OINP with NOC 2171, but received nomination from OINP with NOC 0213. He already accepted an ITA with 2171 without updating it to 0213. Now am about to apply for eAPR.

Please advise shall I change it in eAPR with letter of explanation or what else could be done?

What should be written in letter of explanation? Any ideas please

My sincere thanks to all of you

I am assuming you didnt claim points for OINP.
You can change NOC code. But if your reference letters are in-lieu with 2171 then I wouldnt recommend the change. So either go ahead with what you have (2171) else change the letters to 0213 with of course explanation in LoE to something like after closely matching i think 0213 suits my profile better

Thank you for your reply. I did claim points from OINP and my reference letters closely match with 0213.

Your EE profile is locked after ITA and cannot be edited. You can only make a change in the actual application. You should explain the discrepancy in an LOE.
Can you delete work experience Post ITA? for example I want to delete work experiences that are in my EE profile but I thought that they will not matter in my CRS score.

Hi,

My current and previous job experience is in NOC 1113 (forex dealer) based on which i received my ITA.

I received the work experience letter from current job for NOC 1113 (forex dealer)

But the work experience letter that i received from the previous job just states my designation (Financial Analyst NOC - 1112) even though i worked as a Forex dealer and the period of employment. Its basically just 2 lines of work experience letter and i do not have any proof to prove that i worked as a forex dealer in my previous job.

Now in this case what should be done;

1. Should i edit the NOC code and provide details in LOE

2. Should i reject and submit a fresh application.
