Hi
I recently sponsored my wife and she will be landing here in October. My name is long and I want to change it in order to make things simple for IDs in Canada. My question is if I change my name before my wife gets here, will there be any issues with her immigrant visa? since I'm not changing my name to a different one (I'm going to keep the same last name but going remove 2 names that I currently have and keep one. Ex: James Junior Shane Miller, the new name will be Shane Miller), I hope this won't be an issue. Thanks for all your responses !!!!

I don't think it makes much of a difference, but I'm curious why you think it would make things easier with IDs? I have a long name too (two middle names and my surname is long), has never given me any problems. Really, only my driver's license and passport have my full name on it. My health card, credit cards, etc all just have my first and last name on them anyway. Obviously up to you, it's your name of course! But it seems like an awful lot of trouble to go through for perhaps not a great deal of benefit.
