Hi there,

Hope you are doing well. I am planning to create my express entry profile in July just 2 months before i have one year work experience which would be in September. I am sure that I would be getting an invitation in September once I create my profile.

My concern is I am planning to go to India for getting married in the month of December, and it will change my marital status. My question is can i do that and if i can, will my change in marital status affect the time of getting PR?

Regards,
Anand.

Yes - you must change your marital status once you are married. You should expect this will add around 4 months (possibly more) to the processing time of your PR application since you will need to submit paperwork to add your spouse to the application (e.g. forms, PCC, have your spouse do the medical).

I am trying to get LMIA done and hopefully it would be accepted in September, 2021. And If I change my marital status in January, 2022, still the LMIA should be valid and my CSR points would not be affected. Please advise.
