Hello everyone,

i have a small querie regarding the family class (common-law) sponsorship, im currently being sponsored and my partner and i wonder what would change if we move to toronto , from Quebec. i have researched a bit and it shows that both provinces have diferent processes.

for instance once my application gets approved for 1st stage, and we move to toronto, do terms and conditions on the financial side change? would we have to be earning a certain amount of money to be able to continue with the sponsorship?

or would we be better off doing the whole process in quebec then once the undertaking is on, we move ?

your comments, experiences and tips would be pretty much appreciated. :)

has anyone had any experience on this at all ? quebec to another province while sponsorship process is on. :-\

I haven't had the experience, but I think it could be done. You will not have to meet the provincial criteria for Quebec and will not need a CSQ.

There are no financial requirements other than to convince CIC that you can provide for both of you.

I think it can be done informing CIC about the new address and clearing with them the fact that you will no longer need to apply and wait for CSQ.

But it would be best if you would call CIC's call center and clarify everything with them before moving.

Hey guys,

I'm in a similar position now. I filed for sponsorship in Quebec but now need to move to Ottawa because I have a job offer starting in May. My residency should be near completion now and I'm just wondering if I moved to Ontario would I screw up my application? LondonBruno how did you fare with the move?
