H! I am here already in Quebec working as a live in caregiver for 5 months. I am not happy with my current employer and I want to change job. I found employer in toronto who is willing to sponsor me. How long does it take the whole process in changing the employer from getting the lmo to getting the work permit... If my future employer get the lmo already and i have the contract is it possible that i will be denied to having the work permit. If I applied for work permit should i inform my present employer already or i can still wait till the new work permit come out. or i should cancel first my work permit with my present employer before i can apply for the new work permit? please help!

Since you were already approved to go to Canada on a work permit, if the employer gets the LMO, it is unlikely that you will be refused a new work permit. You do not have to cancel the old permit.

How long will the whole process if i change employer? Can i still work with my present employer without them knowing that i am processing my paperswwith other employer?

I do not know how long it takes to get an LMO for a live in caregiver in Toronto. You could talk to Service Canada and ask them if they have any idea. After you get the LMO, you will have to apply for a new work permit. Processing time currently 2 months if you apply online, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp.asp

Your current employer will not be notified that you are applying for a new permit but it is possible since you live in their home that they will see letters to you from immigration and ask you what they are.
