I work as a room attendant in alberta and we just found out that our employer is no longer eligible to nominate us for pnp.a lot of my co workers who applied for pnp had been denied. we were thinking if its okay for us to resign with our current employer in alberta and find a new job in saskatchewan cause we heard that particular province is still giving nominations to workers like us. is it possible that we can apply for a different employer in a different province?
thanks a lot.

Firstly you need to find an employer who is willing to support you for PNP, besides the PNP nomination takes around 6-8 months I guess, depends when your work permit expires. The procedure is lenghty.

Do we have to finish our contract with our current employer before looking for a new one? or can we resign with them after we found a new employer? what is the best thing you think we could do? and do you happen to know any employer or agency that could help us find a job in saskatchewan? thanks a million....

There could be many reasons those applicants were denied that have nothing to do with the employer. Are you sure the employer is not eligible?

I guess so, cause in the letter it says that, "they are unable to issue a Certificate of Nomination as the employer has been declined.
If the employer has been declined for the occupation requested the application of the employee candidate will no longer be considered. The application that was submitted under the Employer Driven Stream of the AINP whereby the alberta employer must first be approved, to have an occupation filled by a foreign national on a permanent full time basis, in order for the employee to be considered an eligible employee candidate".

That's too bad. I wonder if there was a compliance issue or too many people sponsored. Best of luck finding a job in another province or in Alberta.

you can't wok with any employer if you dont hold a new work permit yet. if you resign with your current employer, you must have sufficient funds to support yourself while looking for new job since you cant work with anyone other than what is stated in your current work permit.

try to look in this site www.jobbank.gc.ca
goodluck!

Thanks! Hope everything would be fine...Do you think that if an employer was been declined for nominating their employees that would be considered lacking of credibility? if that so there's no way for them to nominate us? Cause we was informed that by september they're going to re apply our pnp.can we do that we just received our letter last may.

Well Alberta has limits on how many workers can be nominated in low skilled occupations in the hotel & restaurant industry per year. Perhaps their year will be up in September and they will be eligible to nominate more people then. I really don't know as I don't know the employer or their history so obviously I can't say for sure.

Can i transfer to a different department in the same employer even if i am just a TWF? currently I'm working in the Housekeeping department as a Room attendant. Just so happen there is an opening for In room dining. I already ask the People resource department but they said it would be conflict with my working permit. Unless they will going to give me a new contract and lmo. and in the end they told me that i cannot transfer to a different department cause im just a TWF. Is that true? Cant do anything cause i am just a TWF?

If thats the case just try to look for another employer that is willing to give PNP. Cause thats the same case i have right now with my employer is just that our employer is still willing to give us nomination but they were declined by the government so there's nothing we could do about it.

Yes, that's true. They have to apply for a LMO in your name and you have to apply for a new WP once a positive LMO is received.

I was wondering are there any other option to become a pr in our case? We are under the the pilot project lower skilled level. we work as a room attendant. since our employer is the one who is getting denied from the immigration, is there any other way for us to apply for pr?
