Hi All,

I'm just about to submit my PR application (I got picked in the 7th draw)

My lawyer just realized I made a mistake in the EE profile, I overestimated one foreign experience employer as I got the year wrong. When corrected, it does not change my points, I have plenty of experience.

She has given me two options - withdraw the ITA, or proceed with the mistake and include a letter explaining the error and the fact it doesn't affect the points.

The downside of continuing is getting accused of misrepresentation, and a 5 year ban.

I don't know what to do.

No one, including your lawyer, can tell you what to do. As it doesn't affect your points, I personally would include the letter of explanation. I think you are more likely to get accused of misrepresenting things that affect your score.

But if your points are very high, there should be another draw soon, so you might not lose much by declining and hoping for another ITA. It truly is up to you.

No I haven't submitted my documents, so technically I haven't misrepresented myself yet.

I have decided to decline the ITA, amend the EE profile and hope for the future draws.

This looks like a reasonable approach. I am in the same boat and considering doing the same thing. Did you get your second ITA after declining the first one?

No. Misrepresentation is any willful action that is likely to increase your points or otherwise land you in a position of undue relative advantage over other applicants.

What you have done is made an error and it is perfectly fine to rectify it in the post ITA application. If you're apprehensive, add an LOE acknowledging and regretting this error. Not necessary though.

Hi,
Deleting some work experiences after declining the ITA, will that be considered as misrepresentation? Or can you modify any information to your profile?
