Changing DLI

Hi everyone,

i want to change my DLI, from Conestoga community college to Nova scotia community college and apply for a new co-op permit after spending a week at Conestoga college.

is there any issues with this

You need to either attend your DLI where you've got your study permit or you need to apply for a NEW study permit with the new NS community college. You cannot just attend for a week and switch with the same study permit.

Read rules for changing DLI. At this point you can not change your DLI against decision made. If you want to change and you are outside of Canada, you need to apply new Study Permit

People inside Canada don't need to reapply, right?

1) I completed my first program in Canada from Sept 2021-Apr 2022
2) I got accepted into a second program at Seneca College that would run from Sept 2022-Apr 2023
3) I applied for a study permit extension for the same and successfully got my study permit
4) I received an offer letter from York University (also Sept 2022-Apr 2023) which I accepted
5) I applied for a change in DLI through my CIC portal

My old and new programs have the same duration, and neither have a co-op requirement. I have not left Canada since I entered in September 2021.

I wanted to confirm if I've done the right thing at step 5, and that I don't need to apply for a new study permit extension. I also wanted to understand how I could confirm that my DLI has been changed as there was no confirmation, only a confirmation that my "request had been sent".
