Changing colleges after landing in canada

Hi, I wanted to ask if an international student who got accepted for a program in the may semester and has landed in Canada with a study permit can change colleges if he gets an offer letter from another college but the program starts in the September semester?
Can he stay in Canada between the interval?

So you are in Canada now? If you are in Canada you can stay. Did you attend the first program in May? If not, you need a study permit for the new program.

Yes, I'm in Canada right now and my original program will start in a few days however I'm more inclined to attend the other college whose program starts in September. Do I have to inform IRCC about this change and make changes to my study permit or do I need to apply for another study permit for the September program?

If you aren’t going to attend the program on your study permit (attend at least a semester) and show you are actively studying, you need a new study permit.

You need a new study permit. IRCC has closed this loophole now.

Thanks for your advice. I think I'm going to study in the may semester for now and see if I can transfer to the other college after one or two semesters

You can change anytime after you arrive in Canada. Just change after a semester since you won't get refund anyway.

You need a new study permit. IRCC has closed this loophole now.

What If we study 1 semester and then change. Like I study from Jan to May and I can take 150 days off due to switching school which is count as authorized leave and join College in September intake. Is that right??
