Changing a visitor visa to a work visa

Please can anybody tell me if and how you can change a visitor visa to a work visa when already in Canada, once you have the required LMO etc? I know that it states on the CIC website that you cannot apply from inside Canada for a work visa when on a visitor visa, so can you go around the flag pole and re-enter as a worker???
