Hello.
I am under a close work permit wich is valid till 2020. Anyway I left my job and I’m not planning to find another yet. I will apply for PR in a few months.

My question is- should I think about changing my status to visitor or study?
Or, even if I dont work I still legal to stay in Canada until my WP expires?

You can remain in Canada until your WP expires. There's no need to change your status to visitor.

Thank you Scylla

Don't you think that immigration agent when reviewing my profile might find strange, that I was living in Canada under closed work permit but actually not working for the company? Thanks

Is there any info on the official sites about that? I can't find

Asked couple immigration lawyers the same questions, they are saying that this is not legal.

I bet I must call CIC to be sure because everybody giving me different answers

Your work permit remains valid even if you aren't employed. Valid permit = valid status.
