change opem work permit to visitor permit

Hello everyone,

I have an open work permit which is valid till augest 2020 because i accompany my spouse who has study permit. On june 2019, I applied online from canada to change my open work permit to visitor permit (for my own reasons). I then traveled back home for the summer vacation and applied online for TRV to return back to canada. My TRV was approved 3 weeks later and I returned back to canada in septmber 12. Last week, I was surperised that IRCC cancelled my online application imm5708 to change my open work permit to visitor permit without any explanations. i sent them and email on the web form but did nit recieve any response. Does anyone has explanation why did they cancelled it?

Thanks for your reply. at the time of application I were in Canada and by the time I returned back the pplication was not open yet. when they actually open my application, i was already here in Canada.

The application was only valid as long as you remained in Canada. Leaving automatically canceled it.
