Change of Noc Code after ITA

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to ask if one can change the Noc code on their application after receiving ITA. I have found a noc code which relates better to my job responsibilities than the one I used in EE profile. Both are of Skill B.

Any help would be appreciated.

I believe it's too late to change your NOC code. Your profile must be locked. See the following link:

From this above link - "Candidates' Express Entry profile is automatically “locked” when they are issued an ITA. Candidates can only revise their profile information if they formally decline the ITA through their MyCIC account. When candidates decline an ITA, they are automatically returned to the pool and will be able to update their profile information, as they wait for a new ITA."

It's on you, if you want to change your NOC, but first you have to decline the current ITA.

Before ITA, you can update your profile and make changes.

I made the same mistake – my profile had an incorrect NOC code, and later when I got an ITA and prepared my documents for submission, I quoted the correct NOC on my job letters. I then sent a CSE explaining what happened, and just last month my application for PR was approved.

I think they will recalculate your points based on your correct NOC, and if your points are still high enough to make the draw after which you got the ITA, it won’t hurt your case much. But then again, it’s just my guess, you’ll need to decide if you want to risk it or not. There have been cases of rejected applications because of an incorrect NOC.

CSE : Case Specific Enquiry

LOE : Letter of Explanation.

LOE is something you submit with your PR application along with all of your documents. CSE is a request you can send to CIC to enquire about your application after you’ve submitted.
You do not need to do both, just LOE will suffice.

In my case I had to do a CSE because I noticed the mistake after I submitted the application. Sorry I confused you.

Would you have changed your NOC before submitting ur e-APR?
I'm on the very same situation right now, but I'm not sure if I can correct my NOC# before submitting (adding a few lines for it on my LOE) or submit it as it is, wrong, and have this same CSE thing done

Hi ..so did you give the explanation on it why exactly u changed the job code ? 1)and i guess changing the job code , never make difference to the CRS points of it right ,?

wow from 0 to B that's a big change there. Anyhow, skill level 0, A and B get the same amount of points allocated, so it won't make a difference in your CRS score. However, like I said before, it is still entirely up to the immigration officer to decide what to do with your application, and people had their applications rejected for changing their NOC codes.

I did give an explanation why the NOC got changed in CSE (I claimed skill level A thinking my professional designation will be finalized by the time I got an ITA, but I ended up receiving an ITA sooner than I expected. I also provided a letter from my professional designation body stating when I'm expected to become a full member).
