Change of Employment with closed work permit

Hiiii guys, I have a quick question and hopefully you can help me with it.

I moved from us to Canada with a closed work permit, now I want to change employer, and the new employer helped me with a new LMIA and a new work permit application, but now I am stuck at the very last step! - Right now, in Canada, there is a Covid-19 policy where you can ask for a interim work permit while your actual work permit is under process, that way you don't have to wait several months until your work permit is granted and can start pretty much right away, and the interim work permit is supposed to be granted within 10 business days, buuuut I am waiting more that 10 business days and still don't hear anything back from IRCC. Every time I asked the lawyer they keep telling me to wait a bit longer. Has anyone else experienced the same issue??

Your situation is not the same as others waiting for extension for example. How long did you work for the first employer? Does the new employer already have an LMIA. All you can really do is wait.

I have worked for my first employer for more than a year, and yes I got a new LMIA from the new employer already. Thanks for the reply!

Do you finally get the interim work permit approved? I would appreciate it if you can share some information!
