Hi everyone,
After several conversations with the Canadian embassy in Italy, Australia and Canada and no resolve to my situation I thought I would ask the following incase any of you have been in the same situation or have any information.
My common law and I applied outland from Australia (we were processed in Ottawa), we then temporarily moved to Italy (which I informed the Ottawa VO 3 separate times and in my application). We received PPR last week and the letter states to send the requested final docs (passport copy and pictures) to Sydney Australia.
We can't send it to Australia as we are not there and cannot provide an express return envelope, and it is highly recommended to not send internationally.
We are considering just going to Canada now and sending our PPR docs to Ottawa and then flagpole. However we will be far from a boarder and without a car to begin with. However it is still an option.

Basically we just want to know where to send out docs to get COPR

Any insight or similar experience would be mutely appreciated.

Did you contact the visa application centre for Rome? You should be able to send it through them: http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/Italy/how_to_apply.html#temporary_documents


But, is this a "real" PPR, is the applicant not visa-exempt? They almost always only ask for a photocopy from visa-exempt applicants.

You can request to be able to send the documents to Rome but this will most likely delay the issuance of the COPR by several weeks at least and it is very possible that they will still say to send it to Sydney or Ottawa.

The easiest thing to do is mail the documents to a friend or family member in Australia who can then mail them to Sydney with a return envelope. They can then forward the COPR to you in Italy. Not quite sure what you mean about sending it internationally; it's perfectly fine.

Just when I was about to send docs to Aus I got an email from Rome to send doc's there. I had emailed Ottawa a couple days before hand about it but was sceptical they would reply as I updated my address 3 times in the past and it was never done.
So all is looking good.
