Hi Experts,

I have a dilemma, I am in process of Canada citizenship (waiting for my oath ceremony which is unpredictable as per timeline).
I got a job offer from other country with visa sponsorship. I want to take the offer however; I am not sure what would happen when the citizenship comes up. I cannot tell the situation at the offer place right now so, I am trying to find answer to my situation.
Does my visa gets transferred automatically? Or do I need to go again through the work visa sponsorship process?
Please provide your expertise. Thanks!

Visa generally does not get transferred from one passport to another. As the visa requirement by host country is different. You may have to check the requirement for a Canadian to work in that other country.

You have to be little more clear about which country's work visa you are talking about. If it's H1B (USA), you don't need to go through the visa sponsorship again. The most you may have to do is amending your petition, but change of citizenship is not listed as an official reason for amendment. Also, Canadians don't need a visa stamp to enter USA.

Will you lose your original citizenship ? If you keep both it's fine... if you only become canadian I think it's different
