Hi everyone just one more question
I sent my application to sponsor my partner as common law in december 2009. I am a canadian pr - italian citizen.
partner is italian living in france. visa office : rome, italy.

we sent it for quebec (where I came back in december and I was residing there).
we have been accepted in by mississauga in december 2009 and quebec gave its approval at the beginning of january.

since that date our package (5 kg!) is in Rome. they sent us a letter stating that they started processing on march 25th. since we sent the application (december) i have been residing in canada (a PR should be in Canada during the time) writing my dissertation thesis in Montreal.
I left the country for short periods for professional reasons (conferences) in Europe, and I had the chance to meet my partner there. right now he s with me in Montreal as a visitor and he s going to stay for some period as a tourist.

however, yesterday I have been received an offer for working in Toronto, Ontario. i should start working in June (i need to give an answer today).

my question is: should I advise the immigration office in rome about this change of address?
this is because when we applied for quebec, there were different papers to send as the ones for the other Canadian provinces. moreover, we passed one more steps.
our application should be at the end of its process right now, do you think I should advise the immigration office about it?

and moreover, if I advise them about the change of address, should we send additional papers (immigration forms papers) that we did not send before (when we apply for Quebec some IMM files were not supposed to be sent, while we sent additional ones for quebec.

I am supposed to stay in toronto for 6 months (for a mission) with the possibility to stay permanently. However, I still have my address in montreal (i m currently living at my cousin's place so I still have a place there).

thank you for your advices

thank you ...I know about that.
but, do you think I should send additional information (contract for rent an apt...actually this one could be done on both names), and papers (the IMM forms for Canada that I did not send because I send something for Quebec).
?

do you think it should affect the speed of the process? I mean I don't want to get the process longer....

quebec and ontario residence

can anyone else give me some opinion?

when I change the address should I attach something more? IMM papers, contract for rent etc??
my boyfriend took a sabbatical year at work ...he s going to come with me in june, as a tourist (3 months) hoping that by that time he gets his visa.
if not, he s going back to europe and come back after.
we also had the possibility to put his name on the contract for the apt in toronto.

I just would like to know which things I need to send with the address change on internet.
thanks a alot

You send nothing just change it online,it should not slow the process at all and sending info that he is now on leases just looks like your trying too hard to make them feel your relationship is true just change the address and if you dont have to then wait till the process is done but then again it might be easier to change it now than later after the card is done.

I agree with iarblue...I had to change mine once,,and it did not affect the application.... as a matter of fact they actually encourage you to change your contact information as soon as it changes..makes communication faster..

in your situation, common law, I would strongly recommend you show them as many proof that your relationship is on going. It's great that you both are signing a lease and it's greater that you submit any documents with both your names on it.

However, one little thing of interest is since he is visiting you in Canada and you both applied under Common Law, don't you think you both should just get married while he's in Canada with you. I think this would be one thing they may question at his interview and it could influence him being issued a visa. You have to go back and fully understand the definition of Common Law and think about the possible questions he can be asked at his interview.

I can assure you that they will try to grill him on his previous travel history to Canada to see you and ask him why you both never got married.

Common law is filed for those who for many reasons cannot get married, no?

Anyway, I am also doing a same-sex sponsorship with my partner for over 2 years now and I got married in Canada before I left because it makes the application way much easier.

Good luck :)

Perfect I m going to change the address
however my concern is the IMM papers
if you apply for Quebec youdont have to sed the whole package (statement of common law etc) but additional one typically from Quebec
when you send for Quebec also you don t have to prove anything financially
I don't know how it works for the rest of Canada but I am wondering if I change the address ight now Ina province other than Quebec they will ask me for additional papers to fill
it s actually strange because applying through Quebec I paid more ad got my process longer already
any suggestions?
