Hello I have recently been advised that there has been a change in the skilled worker visa process and I want to double check if it is true or not. I have been told that you can now find a job get a temp visa and then once in the country apply for your skilled workers visa. Please can someone tell me if this is true or not ????

Thanks,

Yes, it is true, its called provincial nominee program and basically your job has to be on their most wanted list. Just google provincial nominee program and you will find the websites of most of the provinces programs. Some of the provinces even have a semi-skilled list of professions so somebody could come in as a hotel cleaner or fast food worker and get their PR.

I am sure PMM would know that but I don't. I would call immigration and ask but I don't think there is any problem applying for PNP too and whichever comes through for you first, you can cancel your other application that is still pending.
