Change in Plans-->Refund of RPRF

Hi,

Congrats to all those who got their PR and best wishes to those who are in the process.

I solicit an advice for solving a doubt which I am facing right now. I have got my PPR 2 weeks back and given my passport to VFS, Delhi for stamping. However, due to some change in my family circumstance, I dont intend to visit Canada. Is there a way to claim refund of RPRF now as I have not yet moved to Canada.

SOMEBODY PLEASE GUIDE ME HOW TO GO ABOUT IT.

Hope all is well at ur end. IF circumstances are not that bad, please take the PR and visit Canada once and come back. you have to stay for 2 yrs from 5 yrs to keep ur PR live. so may be circumstances are okay after a yr or two. this is just an person thought as technically i am not compatible to answer.

You might need to open a Case specific request from CIC portal though I dont know much about the whole process. Any expert out here for help??

This may help you: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/fees/refunds/rprf.asp

But I second 'bestofluck'; hold on to your PR status till the circumstances are right - as you already know, it is pretty tough getting a PR.

Thanks ''bestofluck' and 'VjROBS'. Thanks 'Shashidhar' for the link but it doesn't talk about as to how to start the process and to whom to write
