Change in Employment - EE FSW Outland Applicant

Dec 24, 2014

Hello Everyone,

I am an EE-FSW applicant (residing outside Canada, AOR 12 sept 2015) . I have recently moved from company1 to company2. I was employed with company1 at the time of submitting my EE application. I plan on raising a CSE to inform CIC about this job change. I have the experience letter of company1 and offer letter of company2 in hand. I am not exactly sure what I should select from the drop down menu of "TYPE OF APPLICATION:".

I would really appreciate if someone who has been in similar situation could reply back to my query.

Thanks.

You don't have to inform CIC about change in your employment because it will not impact your CRS. If you check your AOR letter you can find the cases which should be reported to CIC. Only if you lose LMIA you must deliver it, because you no longer have additional points.

Thank you Russian. I felt the same way until I got to the CSE page which clearly mentions that you need to report change of employment. The unfortunate part is that they have not mentioned whether this applies to people who have claimed points for having a job in canada or to everyone who has applied under Express entry regardless of the location. And this makes me feel that it would be safe to update them than feel sorry later on.

Please let me know what you think.

Regards,

I'm fully convinced that you have to report only those circumstances which affect your EE and FSW score. Maybe experts will share opinions on this issue

Russian is right.

Change in employment and associated changes caused because of that must be notified to CIC only under 3 circumstances.

1. If said employment was supported by an LMIA and gave you 600 additional points.

2. If said employment was instrumental in getting you a PN. In this case, inform the province as well.

3. If said employment change is causing you to move to another country while your PR application is in process. In this case, send a CSE with change of address.

Thank you Asivad Anac. That was really helpful.

I'm the primary applicant and post our AOR in Sept, my husband had changed jobs. This does not impact our scores as we never claimed any points for his employment. Was wondering if it still needed to be informed to CIC. However your post clarifies everything!

Did you get PR via Provincial Nomination from either Ontario or Quebec? If yes, you have to and in either Ontario or Quebec. If you got PR without PNP then you can work anywhere in Canada.

The below only applies if you got PR via PNP:

Here comes the much debated tricky part. If you got PR via getting a PNP, then you must demonstrate a commitment to living in that Province, trying to find a job in that Province and show signs that you actually tried to settle in that Province. During your PNP application you would have had to write a statement confirming of your intention to live in the Province and you must try and stick to what you wrote.

Wait for others to reply as well.
