Hey,
Just wondering if we can change out conditions on our work permit prior to arrival in Canada.
I have received my POE letter and afterwards have been offered employment in a childcare centre.
I've booked in to get my medical exam completed, however am due to arrive in Canada on October 20th and start work on October 6th.
Is there anyway to change the conditions prior to arrival?

HELP!

Get a medical done through a designated medical professional (you can find the list of medical professionals accepted on the CIC web site). Once complete the medical, it will take a few weeks to be process (I would count on three weeks). When you arrived in Canada and have your work permit issued, you can let them know that you've had the medical and ask them to issue a work permit without the restriction on types of work. If you are arriving on September 20th, then it's quite possible the medical won't be processed in time. In that case you will have to return to the border (you'll have to return to a land border crossing - not airport) and have the conditions on your work permit changed once the medical has been processed. You are short on time given you plan to start work on the 6th of October. Complete the medical as soon as possible. If you can't change the conditions on your work permit in time - you will have to defer your start date.
