Hi seniors,

My girlfriend got the CSQ last year and she also recently has a job offer as General Officer Clark.

Since her pervious/current work permit only allow her to work for a specific employer as a pastry chef at a restaurant. So she'd have to change the status and extend the current work permit.

So here are my two questions:

1. We understand that since she has a CSQ, she does not need a LMO anymore. But when asked to upload "Provincial Nominee Program Certificate (PNC) (required)", was it refering to CSQ? Sorry I had to ask this as Quebec is always being special.

2. The online application also asks for "Proof that you Meet the Requirements of the Job Being Offered (required)". The problem is my girlfriend only has a diploma in cuisine and she does not really have any experience working as a office clark. We really don't know which document should we upload for this one as to my knowledge there is really not a major/degree for being a office clark.

Thank you all in advance!!!!!!

Hi nutrition,

I live in Montreal quebec on a work permit, so perhaps i can answer some of the things, though i haven't been through CSQ and process afterwards so some things would be new for me.

She doesn't exactly extend the work permit, but rather should apply for Open work permit based upon CSQ.

1. Probably yes, because the only document you need from Quebec government is a CSQ - then you apply for federal immigration. But you should verify further.

2. I don't know of exact substitutes (since i have always seen past educational docs + experience letters + certifications as proof), but this question needs answering for closed work permit, not for an open one. You don't even mention an employer when you are putting application for open work permit.

Having CSQ makes you eligible for that.

Hope that helps

Do you mean she can just go ahead and apply for a open work permit with only CSQ? Could you please pass me the link from CIC website? Because waht I know is having a CSQ only saves her the trouble applying for LMO.

Emm no - i made a mistake. Apologies. CSQ is not equivalent of AOR as in CEC or other PNPs which qualify you for an open work permit. So yes you would need an employment offer along to apply.

Thanks for your reply!

But I still have not figured out what to provide for "Proof that you meet the requirements of the job being offered", help needed please!

She just need a letter from new employer and CSQ to change her work permit.
