I was successful on getting a verbal job offer; the employer would send a conditional job offer (clear education, criminal, work background).
I mentioned that I should change the conditions on my current work permit, it is employer specific, and I have a work visa too.

The company must fill out an IMM 5802 PDF form, and pay a fee.
After that I must have a copy of those and either apply online (wait times are 100 days) it is too many days. I was also thinking about going to the Niagara Falls border, or even talk to the local MP.

Any thoughts on: Appling at the border process?

My CEC PR application should be completed in the next 2 months or so as well

Thanks a lot

Do you have an approved LMIA from your new employer?

In that case you should be fine flagpoling provided you either hold a visa exempt passport or have a valid multiple entry visa.

i have a multiple entry work visa. my permit says the name of the last employer. i was laid off.
is it common that people go the border to apply for work permit? if so why the wait periods online applying within canada are so long?

what is the standard procedure at the border?

thanks a lot
