well i have completed my 5 year law in 2008 .. with overall aggregate of 57 per ...
since thn i m practicing actively as an advocate in chandigarh district courts ..
i have appeared in ielts i got 6 bands overall ..
listening 6.5
speaking 6
reading 5.5
writting 6

i wnt to apply for paralegal graduate certificate in centenial college for may intake bt there admission requiremnt for the above said course is 6.5 bt the consultancy from which i m getting my file prepared is telling me that they will manage to get my offer letter .. so if i manage to get my offer letter will it effect my case .. because the requiremnt of spp is 6 bands overall...

can u plzz tell me

Hi saurabh,
Forget about consultancy. if your college says admission requirement of english proficency language is 6.5 then consultant cant do anything.
Remember your college will issue an admission letter not consultant. it will be better if you mail to your college for admission requirement.

It would be better to achieve atleast 6.5 bands not less than 6 in each section for visa chances.

Hi,

Don't get fooled by consultancies. Try to do some research on your own too. Don't believe blindly whatever the consultancies say and claim. It's CLEARLY mentioned in Centennial college website, (http://www.centennialcollege.ca/admissions/englishproficiency) that for PG certificate/ Ontario Graduate courses, you need minimum overall 6.5, with no band score less than 6.0 . This is a STANDARD requirement and no consultancy can MANAGE to bend this rule.

Infact, you should keep your distance from such consultancies and ONLY trust on the best/at the top consultants.

HI saurabh,
only fulfilling spp visa requirement will not give u fruitful result.
GENERAL rule for ielts in spp college is
(1) diploma-min. overall 6.0
(2)P.G.Diploma - min. 6.5 not less than 6.0 in each section.

In that case, the college has clearly made an exception in it's English proficiency requirements by giving you an offer letter. R u sure it's not conditional, asking you to increase your IELTS score or something like that?
Often college may give offer letter, but when applying for visa, the CHC will most probably see the low IELTS score in not so positive picture. It's always good to have better IELTS score so as to strengthen your overall profile. Go ahead..and apply..let's see what happens... Hope for the best.

you need at least 6 bands in each section of the IELTS, you have 5.5 in reading, its will cause problem

Hi,

1. You should ask what if I get the refusal letter from the CHC. Offer letter/Letter of acceptance does NOT mean a visa approval.

its upto you to drop file in embassy with 5.5 in reading section.

Either you can ignore to enfieled and others and go ahead with 5.5. band in reading, or you can improve it aleast to 6. its upto you.

1. Are you sure if I claimed about your visa refusal. Read again my last post. May not be right for you to think 'Letter of Offer' = 'Visa approval'.
2. You do NOT need to be a law graduate to study a paralegal course. Most likely, it's a 'Diploma' level course.
