Chances of getting pr after 1 year pg diploma in ontario.

Hi guys,
I am 50 yrs old and have 20 yrs of work experience. I am planing to go to Canada for a PG course of 1 yr. I will be getting a PGWP of 1 yr after completion of my course.
Kindly suggest a cost effective course and also guide me what are the chances of getting a job at this age while having the work permit.

Are you planning on obtaining 1 year of work experience in Canada so that you can apply for PR through the Canadian Experience Class stream or to get additional points under Express Entry? If so, it's quite possible a 1 year PGWP will not be enough to get a full year of work experience. We always recommend taking a two year program so that you can qualify for a 3 year PGWP.

It's highly unlikely you'll be able to apply for PR before the expiry of a 1 year work permit if you are applying under CEC. If you want to apply for CEC, you should take at least a 2 year course so that you qualify for a 3 year PGWP.

It's really hard for any of us to say how easy or difficult it will be for you to find a full time job. Some international students find jobs easily - others really struggle. Certainly there's never a guarantee someone will find a full time skilled job after completing their studies in Canada.
