Chances of getting a Study permit after getting 8 bands in IELTS? HELP!!!

Hello Guys!

I'm a constant follower of this Forum and always look forward to advices and words of wisdom from senior members and other members. As mentioned in my previous post, I've applied for a PG diploma course in Fashion Management in Humber and GBC for Fall 2015 intake. I would most probably get a LOA from them in a couple of weeks.

My profile is below:

10th (2010)-84%
12th (Science, 2012)-70% and received award for highest marks in English (state) -95
B.Sc (Apparel Design and Merchandising, 2012-2015)- 55%
Recently gave IELTS, Score- L-9, R-7.5, W-7, S-7.5 (Overall-8 bands out of 9)
Completed a paid 3-months internship at porsche design with a Job offer.

Since I have fairly low scores in my Bachelors, How bright are my chances now, given that I scored an 8 in IELTS, to successfully get a study permit? Are any additional documents required to be added on to my checklist to convince a VO?
Also, I have 3 letters of Recommendation, 2 from my college professors and 1 from HR manager of my previous company. Including them would be an asset?

Ans yes, it is agreed that finances and family ties play a vital role in getting a visa. Will try my best to convince the VO!

Only ielts result wont get you a visa, 55% will be a concern. Its about 50-50 of a chance

i was in the same case as urs and got rejected but i think you already have good document list and you will do well.
i didnt attached the Recommendation docs. Now i am reapplying with recommendation docs. i am pretty concerned what should i write in those letters, can you suggest me in those letters ??

Hey, thanks for your reply. I totally agree that 55% is a big concern. Therefore, I've arranged strong letters of recommendations from two of my professors in college. I'm also planning to write a strong SOP clearly stating the reasons for my low marks and how I'll rectify them if given a chance to study in canada.Do you think that'll make a difference?
Also, attaching my prospective job offer could be a wise decision to prove my home-country ties?
Any other additional documents that you'd like to recommend?

Ur SOP will make a huge difference and I dont think ur 55% is a big concern, looking at ur marks in 10th and 12th. Cmo'n in a students teenage life everyone gets diverted,just state the honest facts and also state tht ur trying to get back on track.

Wise to attach reasons of your poor performance and rectifications. Write a good and honest SOP, thats all.
