Hi everyone,

I am a student form Pakistan intending to apply for Masters in Canada, my GPA is 2.51 (68%) with 2 years of experience and 7 band IELTS. I will be applying for M.Eng Electrical Engineering for Jan intake at:

1. University of Windsor
2. Concordia University
3. Memorial University of New Found land

What are my chances of admission in the above Universities.

Only an official from the above universities can tell you about your admission.

So better start emailing your desired Dept. in above universities and ask them the chances. For MUN, theres a chance, for Concordia, it's world class university so they do have some standards.

forget abt Concordia brother...

even f u had 2.99CGPA even then ur admission chances are very slim.

think on other options...

btw from which uni u did ur graduation? n in which branch of Electrical Engineering are u working for 2years?

Agreed with Roma for Concordia :P It's a heck of university and expensive too. I have 3.05CGPA with more than 3.24GPA in last two semesters and I din't opted for it :D Try Simon Fraser for chances as well.

Thanks guys for your replies. I did my bachelors in Telecommunication Engineering from FAST Karachi and has worked for 2 years in the Telecom industry.

I have e-mailed almost all the Universities in Canada, positive responses have just come from the ones that I have listed. What other Universities can I try other than these.

Do you guys have any idea about Carleton University for Finance Program at Undergraduate Level ??

well they give positive response coz they r told to do so... but the fact is tht they charge $100 application to admission department and in the end $100 wasted so u shud better b practicle... $100 may b small amount for them but here $100*88.30=8830PKR and f u r applying for 3 universities then... 8830*3=26490PKR tht may b a little less than your one month salary... so think about it

So what do you suggest.

So now there is only one choice left that is University of Windsor, Memorial University has just one intake that is September. So can you tell me any other University where I stand a chance of admission with these grades.

sorry bro cn't gve u any positive sugestion about tht.. theres a topic in this forum in which "Maan" is claiming tht he can hlp in getting admission even wid low CGPA. but he didn't xplain hw... i applied to Uni of Alberta and Uni of Sasketchwan but invane...

its better to think about PGD in the same field... colleges offer these programs.. they have certain rule that after maintaining a specific CGPA u cn trnsfr to a UNI for Masters...

hope this was helpful.

@Roma

Well in my point of view MASC has a higher requirement for admission as compared to M.Eng because MASC is a research based degree. Can you share all the Universities in which you applied and in which University did you get admission.

Requirement for MASc and MEng are the same... they just differ with the course content and project r thesis.
i have found that MUN has mentioned 2nd division in their requirements for MEng but m not sure whehter they offer winter session r not.

What about University of New Brunswick and Lake head, what is there requirement??
