Chance of Visa rejection? Please Please Please HELP

Hi everyone,
I am Priya. I have applied to SFU for Post Baccalaureate Diploma Program in Computing Science.

As per the given requirements i guess am suitable to this, as i have done B.tech in computer science from india. Personally my skills were not good enough to go for masters in SFU so i opted for PBD just to prepare and sharpen my skills on an international platform.
I also got accepted by them and received Offer Letter of Admission as well, but the concern is, it comes under Undergraduate studies , SFU says Diploma's are not equivalent to Graduate studies, for them MS and PHD are graduate studies and the PBD is neither of them.

Also , On my Offer letter they have given program name as Computing Science Diploma not Post Baccalaureate Diploma Program in Computing Science.

However , School of Computing Science has given me additional letter on there level saying clearly that i have been accepted for Post Baccalaureate Diploma Program.

When i reached consultants , most of them said your visa will get rejected reason same Undergrad / grad category.

I am so disheartened , please please help me as soon as possible, I have very less time to apply for visa. Classes are starting from Jan'13.

Well, JUST TO CLEAR YOUR MIND, i would suggest you to contact the person who selected you for this course. email dat person your queries that "Just to clear whether my course comes under post graduate category or not" Because of the main reason your offer of admission does not stating anything like "Post baccalaureate Diploma" if it is ..that course then ask them to state it properly on your admission offer.
Or even another thing might well be happen that as in visa office you have to submit the original copy of admission offer not the emailed version of it..So, they might written it clearly on the original admission offer that the university will send you through air mail.

Each university has its distinct way of giving the admission offer through email.Only university faculty can tell you properly.

Hi Harshpreet, thanks for your reply.
Well university says that they can't change the offer letter, so for safer side Computing Science Dept. has given me an email with proper stamp and on there letter pad, saying i have been selected for PBD Program, and they have confirmed that I AM ADMITTED FOR PBD only, since there is only one diploma under Computing Science department so it is referred as Computing Science Diploma.

Other than these, please suggest that Undergraduation category is not an issue? As for SFU only masters and PHD's are Graduate Studies . No Bsc's and PBD's come under Graduate Studies.

how much is the fees of the this course u have selected? how
long is the duration?

12th: 65%
IELTS : 7 overall
Working as software developer trainee from past 2 months
completed btech in july'2012 with 72.4% marks
fee is $16000 to $20000 approx..
Duration is 1 year.

ur 10th ,12 , btech marks , ielts any work ex etc etc.!!!!!

i did btech from PTU.. and my ielts score is 7 overall
sfu is truly a big thing and most of the consultants also say same thing dat dere r very minute chances when its big university like SFU.
you got into some university ? or waiting?

I also did my btech from ptu ...applied in mcmaster univ., univ of guelph and carelton waiting for response..
my ielts is 6.5 nd btech (ECE) 75.2 %

It has nothing to do with undergraduate/graduate category.

It requires bachelor degree for admission.

Hello Guys,

I am applying for PG diploma in Jan 2013 I have completed my 10 from Gujrat board n 12 from MP opet state school
also I have graduation of Bsc IT from The Global Opne university of Nagaland as the open university is UGC valid, but many people
stated that my visa will be rejected because I have a open university Degree which is not validated as per Canadian
high commission so if your all documnets are fine or financial stable.


Can you please please advise whether this is right I should not put up my file for the above reason :'(.

yes it is UGC/AICTE and DEC/COL approved college, but does part time study matter in visa rejection.
