HI coolguy

i am here in alberta. and i am 3 papers away from acca completion. i went to cga office in here and had a great discussion
firstly they asked work exp of atleast 3 yrs
then the asked me for bachelors of 4 years with atleast 65%

and when i asked about MRA between acca andd cga they said me

yes there is MRA only for ACCA member with Bsc (oxford uni) of atleast 65%

when this is complete then cga will do evaluation and then decide that how much more papers of cga has to be given by you

at last when i asked about my self that i had 2yr B.com of 70% and acca 11 papers qualified they said me we can only give u 5 papers exemption and i was like :o >:( >:(

so cga direction is awesome but only if u get it :D

now i am doing 2 yr dip in finance and then lets c how it goes

thanks

ACCA is Cake. everyone has it and they regret having it.

My Words o this is look for CGA or CICA or CMA it will make us better people and accountants.

CGA for ontario will have same rules or will be different ?

If I m completing ACCA and getting membership, still they will evaluate me ? Or I have to give 2 papers tax and law ?

Hi coolguy, the 2 papers are to be given even after you get ACCA designation.

Agree with u singh.....that's fine

But fahad is saying even if u have ACCA, u should B.sc from oxford with 65% (what's this new surprise)

After this also they will evaluate and give the exemption

Are the rules for CGA different as per provinces ?

CGA is the easiest designation to get in Canada. Chartered Accountancy is the hardest followed by CMA

^^ Nice post. People can read and realize now that their ACCA - CGA Dreams are not easy to get. :)

Well here comes the latest news, i am not sure how will this effect the Mutual recognitions . All three designations have merged i.e CA, CGA, CMA.. read this link.

I dont have any idea of passing ratio. But yes, i cleared one of pace level exam here and exam was not as tough as INDIAN CA exam is. Anyways , all is set for new cpa programme , so the question should be what will be level of pass percentage for new CPA prog, and this question also will not have a definite answer cause its new thing we are dealing with.
