Hi,

I had a small query...

While submitting the PR application under CEC category, do we need to certify all the copies of the educational document from an authorized person? Or is it require only in case when the documents are in language other than english or french?

In the document checklist i didn't find anywhere that they need to be certified. Pls help...

Waiting for early response from experts.

Thank You!

Regards

Transcripts have to be originals in sealed envelopes issued by the educational institution.

Photocopies of diplomas are acceptable. Certified is only required for translations.

Hi,

Thank you very much for the response!

One more question, I am a B.Tech and all my marksheets and degree is in English. For the post secondary documents do I need to submit the copies of these docs only? Do I need to submit any other docs? I don't have any other degrees. Do I also need to submit a photocopy of class Xth and higher secondary school?

Regards

Education documents are required for post-secondary only.

As stated before, you can submit a photocopy of your diploma. Transcripts (marksheets) must be originals issued by the educational institution in a sealed envelope.

Hey Jes,

I have one question about CEC. Do we need to submit only the canadian work experience and educational documents or from India as well. I did my B Tech from India and then completed my MBA from UBC. I have one year experience in Canada as a Marketing Manager. I think we have to send documents relating to Canada only. Please suggest.

People have different opinions about this. My opinion -

Go by the checklist.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5610E.PDF

For education, the checklist does not say "in Canada only" - so I included ALL of my post-secondary transcripts. They use this for your background check.

For letters of employment, it says "for the past 3 years." So provide letter(s) for the past 3 years. When I applied, I had only 2 years in Canada, the third year was from my employer in the USA. If you only worked for one year out of the past 3 (because you were a student for example), then that's OK.

Hey Jes

Yes you may be right. It will be really difficult for me to get transcripts from India. I am thinking of notarizing my mark lists and sending them in a sealed envelope. Anyways I e mailed Buffalo office yesterday about the documents. Lets see what they reply and then accordingly I will plan the things. I also talked to a call centre agent and he also told me that you just need to send canadian documents only. Yaa you are right that in the document checklist there is no where written about the documents from Canada.

Anyways thanks so much for your feedback and suggestions.
