Dear officer,

I'm applying for PR under family sponsor and common law class, I don't understand what kind of documents are requested to be certified, if a copy will be submitted.

For example, the sponsor's PR card & SIN card, the proof of joint account/bill, and all other documents that are not original?

Second question is, am I requested to submit my parents' notarized birth certificates, even though they are not included in the application? It's really hard for them to get one, since the notary office asked them to go to their birth city to apply for the certificates.

Third question, I'm a Chinese working in a country other than Canada or China. My mother did all notarization and mailed to Toronto, including marriage certificate, birth certificate, police certificate, only except my national ID certificate. The Chinese local notary office must request the applicant's presence to get it. But for me, it will costs money and time. So I was thinking, am I allow submitting a self-translated copy of my Chinese ID card, along with the copy in Mandarin.

Thanks so much for your help.

update:

today, I went to a public non-profit consultant office.

based on their suggestion,

(1) i don't have to certify the copies which are in English or French. Only those documents that are in other languages are requested to be certified.
(2) they clarified the world "all family members" on page 4/6 of IMM 5533, which I previously assumed to include my parents, and actually it's not. "all family members" only include my wife, myself, and dependent children, if applicable.
(3) they said a law office can notarize my Chinese ID card. therefore, I should acquire one from there, instead of showing at a Chinese public notary office.

can anyone please confirm if the above are correct?

your time is much appreciated!

Your own replies to yourself under 1 and 2 sounds reasonable, and they are complies with what I know of.
- Your family is only you, your wife, your dependent child(ren)...
- Chinese consulate may also help about confirmation of your ID in another language as well.
