Hello,
Could anyone explain the meaning of "Certified Translator" in Canada? and how could we check if they are certified?

I have contacted the following companies:
docsbase
taontario

They say they give certified translation, but their translators are "regular translator" and not member of ATIO (I am in Ontario).

I have contacted with ATIO translators too, but they do not give affidavit.

If anyone used a translation company, how did you confirm that they are certified translators?

Thanks

ATIO translators do not give affidavits as they are NOT required to do so (only non-certified translators must provide it).

ATIO members are certified translators.

ATIO members are certified, they do not need to give affidavits.

Thank you for replying.
My main question is about "Translation companies" that not have ATIO translators.
They themselves say that they provide certified translation. Are their translations accepted by CIC?

If the translator is not a member of one of the provincial translators associations (it does not have to be Ontario's), then you need a translator's affidavit along with the translation.

So if I understood correctly, a certified translator is one of the followings:

a member of provincial translators associations (such as ATIO)
OR
a regular translator + affidavit

Try CTS, they are certified by ATIO, they gave me the translated documents with the ATIO stamp and their registration number.

Hi seniors,

For my HCP application under OINP, do I have to use translators that are found on the ATIO's website?

Thanks

i need a CERTIFIED translator for PR application in Canada, how can I find one to translate our "non English " chat conversations in social media?

How much is the average cost in translating these documents?

What about Taontario.ca? Planning to get their service. Thanks
