Hello!

Does anyone has experience on getting certified copies of documents that are not in english or french in Toronto? Where can I get it? How much can I expect to spend per document?

I already have notarized translations + translator affidavit, but I don't have a certified copy of the original document (source: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5609ETOC.asp#documents )

Thank you very much!

Cheers!

Hi,
I made some certified copies back in my original country with a lawyer, but I think you can do it anywhere with a lawyer as he/she should certify that it's an original copy but I think it does not matter what is on the papers or on which language....but I'm not sure.

I think it's very clear on the webpage you linked:

"Certified true copies

To have a photocopy of a document certified, an authorized person must compare the original document to the photocopy and must print the following on the photocopy:

“I certify that this is a true copy of the original document”,
the name of the original document,
the date of the certification,
his or her name,
his or her official position or title, and
his or her signature.

Who can certify copies?

Persons authorized to certify copies include the following:

In Canada:
a commissioner of oaths
a notary public
a justice of the peace

Outside Canada:
a judge
a magistrate
a notary public
an officer of a court of justice
a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the person is living

Family members may not certify copies of your documents."

Hello,

Search on Google for "Notary Public Toronto". You can look for the ones next to your neighbor.
Prices varies, so call a few to get the best price.

Good Luck!

Thank you both EPP and horvathc.
Apparently my home country consulate can make these copies (and they can even certify that the documents are real, something that no foreign notary can do) and CIC accepts them.

Thank you!
