Hello All,

I would like to have 2 questions regarding the certified copies I must submit with my application for FSW program. I'm Hungarian, most of my documents are in Hungarian. (Of course, I will have them translated.)

1. I went to a notary to have the documents copied, but "notary subsitute" stands on the certification (I guess the notary was on holiday...). Is that okay this way?

2. The text on the certification goes as follows: "I, the undersigned Notary in and for the City of Budapest hereby certify that the document attached hereto is a correct copy of the original document produced to me. At Budapest on this 25th day of August 2014."
My question is: CIC website says that the name of the original document must appear on the certified copy. It is missing from my copies. Is it allright anyway?

Thanks very much,
dobahn

1) the notary substitute is also a notary right? otherwise he wouldn't have the power to notarize?

2) You should have the name of the original document in the certified copy, not necessarily in the statement from the notary. For example, if it is a birth certificate, the translated document should say it's a birth certificate. If that's the case, it is fine.

Thanks very much!

So - if I understand correctly - if I have photocopied a document which is already in English, the certification of the copy does not need to mention the name of the document?

Thanks again!
