In India certified cheque is a DD and in Canada a certified cheque is a personal cheque with an endorsement of bank but it is not a bankers cheque/draft.

If you are rite, I should get a DD payable to "THE RECEIVER GENERAL FOR CANADA" for a amount of CAD $1100 (Me & Wife). Is that rite?

Should anything else be included? Any fine details? Should I mention where the DD should be payable at?

learnt that you should ask for "foreign draft", not all bank branches provide this.

No way to expedite, they need to complete forex formalities.. I went to my bank CITIbank today and they told to come on Monday as Saturday Forex is closed. Banks need to contact forex which generally takes 1-2 days.

CIC should have updated fees and other details earlier and not everything at last moment.
