Hello everyone! I am a new candidate in the the Express Entry pool. I need your help to confirm the ECA validation requirement.

I have completed my BSc and then MSc, however I have applied for the ECA validation only for MSc Degree certificate. As, this is what I have had selected as my highest degree achievement while creating the Express Entry profile. A question came in my mind lately- do I need to get both of my degrees evaluated by the ECA or the highest one, MSc, should be fine?
I can see, it says:

"an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report from an approved agency showing that your foreign education is equal to a completed certificate, diploma or degree from a Canadian:

    • secondary (high school) or
    • post-secondary school
"
url: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp

Here a singular number is used! So, am I safe and eligible to apply with only one certificate?
Thanks in advance!
I look forward to hearing from you.

Use this tool and see what your masters equals: https://www.wes.org/ca/wes-tools/

If it equals a Canadian masters, don't mess with getting your bachelors evaluated; you'll get more points for having the masters.

If it equals a Canadian bachelors, get your bachelors evaluated too. You can then claim points for 2 more degrees; which is more points than a bachelors.

You have to send both the degrees to WES as MSc is not equivalent to Masters in Canada so claiming only MSc doesnt help as it is awarded as one year degree. Also, when you enter both the degrees, cic calculator will count as "Two degrees"

Best of luck!!!

Uh this is not always true. I have a Masters of Science degree and it's equivalent to a Canadian masters degree. Without knowing where the OP's degree was obtained from, there's no way of stating with 100% certainty that it would not equate to a Canadian Masters.

Thanks everyone! Specially mgnlky! I am waiting for my report from WES, and checked the link you provided, result is: "Equivalency in Canada: Master's degree". I forgot to mention my MSc awarding body- it is University of Wales, UK.
I can see some people advising to send both to get MORE points- absolutely false! Highest point for education is 150.
BSc = 125, Msc = 135 and PhD = 150.
Do you think submitting BSc and MSc - I will score 260? Whereas highest score is only 150? The simple formula for more points is to have the highest degree achieved!
Using the link [mgnlky] provided- now I am sure - my MSc is Canadian equivalent MSc and sleep well tonight! Thanks again everyone!

*Usually* US and UK degrees are equal to Canadian equivalents. I would put money on your Masters from the University of Wales being a Canadian Masters.

That being said, the most points you will get is 135.

*IF* they said your masters was equal to a Canadian bachelors, and your bachelors was equal to a certificate/diploma/etc, then you could claim 2 degrees or more and get 128 points (if single, 119 if married/partnered).

Yes, you are right with the IF, for a different scenario than mine! Thanks!
