certificate of clearance of police record validity time

Hi,

I'm an Iranian citizen and I moved to Europe in Aug 2010. My husband has started the sponsorship process and I need clearance of police record. So... here is my question: I have a certificate of police record from Iran which I obtained in July 2010. Since I've not been to Iran since then, do I still have to get a new one?

I am afraid you would have to get a new certificate. A Police Certificate is generally valid for 12 months. However, the date of issue on the police certificate should not be earlier than 3 months from the date your hubby applies to sponsor you. Hence, on both counts, you would have to apply for a new certificate.
