Hello. Any update on rescheduling as mine got canceled on oct 17 as well due to administrative error. Does anyone know the meaning of that and any body rescheduled yet
NO, NOTHING YET, they only got the ghost update in oct. 27th. The ceremony is still in progress
And I really do not know, what administrative error means.
the things I know that my family members applied online, then they got the test request(which they completed in April) from the Niagara office, and then everything turned green on June 14th,
we emailed them and they said that applications are approved and only you need to wait for the oath ceremony invitation, which they got on August 30 ( they scheduled my husband and older son for a virtual ceremony on September 7th, but from the Mississauga office this time. This ceremony was canceled on Sept. 6th
I feel that changing offices is the main issue (why did they change the office, I have no idea)

I'm still thinking that there's something that all of us got in common for them to cancell the oath, it is hard to figure it out what it is because nobody will tell in this forum their detailed application, we have people with more than 2 months waiting just for a seat in that ceremony room, it doesn't make any sense to me if we are good to go long time ago, what's the point to make people wait? The big question with no answer.

No update for me as well. My file passed everything over 3 months ago. I haven't heard anything since the cancellation on Aug 28.

Sorry to read that!
May I know:

1- Was it online or in-person?
2- The processing office for your application was Mississuaga as well or Scarborough?

No worries man, but something is wrong because that day that office was full of people taking the oath, and I could even see our 2 seats empty, this is something else than an administrative error, is my thinking.
Is this "administrative error" only in GTA (Scarborough and Mississauga offices)? I wonder if other provinces cancels oath

Someone who got their ceremony cancelled due to administrative error posted their GCMS notes a while back on this forum.

If we were to consider most applications with admin error have same cause, No, it is not a wait for a seat in the ceremony room which causes this. What I understood is that in the final officer review before the ceremony, something was flagged by the reviewer which caused the application to be sent back for a detailed check to GTA central office. Purely my speculation but I believe that such applications will be reviewed by a higher level officer and possibly include some sort of detailed check, eg: enhanced security screening etc.

Sorry I didn't want to be the bearer of the above sad news but purely based on that GCMS notes, it may be a while before the file is sent back to Missisauga office for a ceremony. If someone is calling IRCC, it would be worth asking: Is my file with local office or central office? If not local office, what is currently being worked and if I can help provide any additional info to speed things up. Doubt it would speed things up but maybe it will provide further clarity.

Might be, but why can some people in the same situation (admin. error) go to the office in, say, Missasauga, show a proof of urgent job opportunity in USA and get the oath right on the spot? Why one of them was explicitly told by IRCC that he is put in the queue for rescheduling and he is still waiting after 2.5 months? Does not it show that it is simply the slowliness of the office who does the rescheduling? Other folks' experinces show it is possible to wait in that queue for months even after you are approved... Many folks called IRCC and were explicitly told that their applications are approved and yet that they need to wait... But these are my speculations, God knows better.

Yes, it's effects other province as well, my mother (55+) age and based in Saskatoon, oath schedule was Sep 26, 2023, then received cancellation email on 22nd September. So I can definitely say that, it's nationwide.

If people affected by the cancellations get organized and contact media outlets and/or leading immigration lawyers, will it make a difference? Was there such precedent in the past? Any thoughts?
Thanks

Involves Media would be definitely great idea, IRCC need to be accountable and they should be more transparent and they should explain why so many applications are getting administrative errors on nationwide.
